Thank you for your interest in Kit Shoop’s paintings. I have been asked for a little information about the artist and feel probably as qualified to do this as anyone. We have a small farm in Minnesota, near Stillwater, which was originally homesteaded three generations ago. Kit’s great loves are antiques, her horses, a bevy of cats, several unruly dogs, and the natural world. Kit is originally from St. Louis, majored in art and taught school for a while. Her work now sells very well nationally and can also be found in England and Europe. She has been in several national juried shows, primarily for miniatures, although she specializes in bird watercolors. Our main interest is dedication to the beauty that surrounds us, then to preserve and share and what we see with others. Kit spends hours riding her horse, Snuffy, watching the hawks and other wild creatures, and makes frequent trips to study the quiet rural scenes which she uses for her miniature landscapes.
