Melissa is an active potter in Woodbury, MN where she has established a home studio.
She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from UW Stout in 1993; then made the decision to return to school in the pursuit of a degree in Pathology. She currently works as a PA at Children’s Hospital of MN and continues her excitement for clay in her free time. An addition of a kiln has resulted in endless creative experimentation. Her work is strongly influenced by nature, translating the roughened or burnished textures, variegated color and raw clay appearance into each piece creating unique visual texture and design. Her pieces are available at Regional Art sales and at the Stillwater Art Gallery.
