Laura primarily paints landscapes from Minnesota. From the North Shore, the Boundary Waters, and the St. Croix River Valley, she believes there are endless sites of beauty to celebrate through art.
After many years experimenting with various painting styles, Laura developed a style she calls Textural Impressionism. Inspired by post-impressionism painters Van Gogh and Monet, this contemporary style incorporates impasto paint applied by both a pallet knife and paintbrush. Layering thick and short strokes of oil paint creates a spectrum of emotion. Laura hopes to give viewers a deeper appreciation of Minnesota’s great outdoors.
