While growing up in northern Wisconsin I often saw many wild animals up close. However, I had no idea that they would become the primary focus of my artwork. Used as metaphor for many things human, bears, owls, squirrels and rabbits allow me to explore the power of relationships, power and gaze. While playing with the art materials at hand, I am free to depict their and our mixed emotions about environment, each other, food, survival and life in general.
