Rustic Road Pottery
I come from a long line of “makers”: Seamstress, Quilters, Printmakers, and Carpenters. Gifted craftsmen – artisans in their own right. So it’s no surprise that I became a “maker” too. I’ve worked in many mediums but it was clay that really captivated me. So many choices – different clays, glazes, and techniques. The options are endless.
My leaf work is unique in the fact that I hand pick each leaf and press it into the clay while it’s still soft. No two pieces are exactly the same. I work in stoneware and porcelain, both hand building and on the potters wheel. New glaze experimentation is always fun and challenging. I draw my color choices from nature – trees, leaves, sunsets, blue skies and sandy beaches. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed making it.
All glaze is commercially purchased and food safe.
