I am a local oil painter living in Stillwater.  I’ve had a love for art since I was a young girl and my initial college studies were focused on fine art.  This dream was put on hold to pursue a career in nursing as a hospice nurse.   Working with people in this capacity taught me the value of each day and the importance of pursuing your passions.  In 2009 I returned to art by taking studio classes and workshops which focused on representational painting.     “Plein air” painting, which is painting from life outdoors, is my preferred method.  This way of painting allows you to capture the beauty and subtle transformation of our landscape from season to season.  These small expressive plein air studies are responsive to time and place and are often used to influence larger studio pieces.  Through my work I hope to share the sense of peace and authenticity nature offers to those who view my work.
