I’m Bawn Kazos from Maplewood, MN. When I’m not spending time with my husband, our sons and our energetic doodles, I am playing with Polymer Clay. I have been fortunate to make a living, showing and selling my art at a variety of different venues, including art shows, galleries, and the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market Annex for the more than two decades. For years, I have focused on creating cane designs, using different colors of clay, much like a Chief makes sushi. Using the completed designs, I make jewelry and functional art such as, wine bottle stoppers, purse hangers, bookmarks, etc. More recently, I’ve been learning and experimenting with different techniques, adding acrylic paint, alcohol inks and mica powders to the clay, which has opened up a whole new and exciting dimension to my designs. The creative possibilities of polymer clay are endless. After all these years, I have barely scratched the surface of what can be done with this amazingly, versatile art medium.
