In 1966 my father took a welded class at a local community college, bought welding equipment and together we started making metal sculptures. I still have the original one that we made.
I have continued to make welded metal sculptures using the technique of Direct Metal Sculpture, which is welding many small pieces together to make larger works. I use steel with brass and copper enhancements and finish my work with clear lacquer. Many of my works are based on nature themes.
I then sell my work at 4 to 5 juried fine art shows and several art galleries each year.
